Colleges & Universities
Choosing a Higher Path: College and University Education.
Burnout happens. It usually happens when your current career is at a dead end, your compensation doesn’t meet your capabilities or when you’re not being challenged to your maximum potential. The sure-fire way to prevent burnout is through education at a college or university.
Locating the Right College or University
In the search for an institution of higher learning, do not automatically pick the cheapest school or the first school that accepts your application. Be discerning. First, locate schools that offer training in an area that you’re passionate about. Second, locate schools that have an outstanding reputation in that field. Third, locate a school that will best accommodate your lifestyle, schedule, and pace.
Paying for College or University
Concerned about the bills? You should be, it’s a legitimate concern. School isn’t cheap. But school pays for itself. If you are in a high-paying job, you may be able to save up for college. If not, find a competitive loan, and work when you are able during the school year and the summer months. Part of the strategy of higher education is landing a job after graduation that will set you on a higher financial plane.
Leveraging the Power of University Education
College education is a tool—a powerful tool that gets you to the places you want to go. The best paying jobs in the country require at least a Bachelor’s degree. College-educated professionals are far more protected from recession cutbacks than employees who do not hold a degree. Be sure to note your degree on your resume. On your resume, you can include “Relevant coursework” to indicate to your potential employer the classes that equip you for the job.
